Cold Weather Cures – Advice from Dr. Robert Marshall, Ph.D.

When the temperature drops and the skies turn cloudy, your body may react to environmental changes by becoming more susceptible to colds and other bugs. People may look for relief in the winter season, but Dr. Robert Marshall, Ph.D. and co-founder of Quantum Nutrition Labs, has some advice for tackling the cold weather blues with remedies that work.

“In the cold weather season, you have to be certain you have the right stuff to tackle these illnesses. Avoid the sugar-laden stuff that is supposed to help alleviate colds.” Dr. Marshall explains. He goes on to discuss one of his favorite immune-supporting products. “Oregano oil is a wonderful remedy that has been used for hundreds of years. It’s a great immune support product for the sinuses, the mouth, the upper GI tract, you name it. It does have a bit of a spicy taste to it, so you can tone it down by taking two to three drops of oregano oil and mix it with two to three drops of orange essential oil in a few ounces of water. Once it is shaken vigorously, you will see that the oils will disperse into very tiny bubbles and it will all be emulsified. This way, these nutrients can be easily absorbed.”

Another one of Dr. Marshall’s favorite, highly recommended ingredients: vitamin D3. “You need to have adequate amounts of vitamin D3 levels. This is more difficult in the winter, because we get less sun exposure in the winter, so adding a D3 supplement to your nutritional regimen is definitely important.” Dr. Marshall explains that vitamin D oil can also be broken down by mixing it with orange essential oil in order to make it more palatable so that it is more easily absorbed into the body.

“During the winter, you’ll also want to find an overall immune supporting product that offers broad spectrum immune and cardiovascular support. A product featuring olive leaf would be beautiful because it has been shown to help block the reproduction of nasty bugs,” Dr. Marshall explains.

Protecting your immunity during the colder months is critical in enjoying overall health and happiness. Be sure to stock up on these immune supporting ingredients and enjoy listening to the rest of Dr. Marshall’s recommendations in this episode of HealthLine Live Radio Show.
