How to Support Your Own Best Stomach Health – Advice from Dr. Robert Marshall, Ph.D.

Let’s be honest: most of us have had stomach troubles before. Whether it is indigestion, acid reflux, weight gain in the stomach area, or an upset stomach after eating, stomach issues are very common. Troubles with the stomach area can reach out and cause problems in many other areas of your body – and Dr. Robert Marshall, Ph.D. and co-founder of Quantum Nutrition Labs, is here with some solutions that might help.

On an episode of Healthline Live Radio Show, Dr. Marshall remarked about the stomach issues many people face: "After you eat a meal, maybe you have experienced that you just don’t feel quite right. The food seems to just sit there.”Dr. Marshall is pointing out that instead of digesting properly, many people find that their food feels like it is stagnant in their stomach.

Digestion can be a tricky puzzle to solve, notes Dr. Marshall, but he has a significant trick up his sleeve: digestive enzymes! He ardently recommends: “You should use digestive enzymes if you’re over 30 and struggling with digestive concerns. Those badly needed enzymes will help break down the food that you eat so that you can digest the food much better and get its benefits.”

For example, Dr. Marshall examines the effects of one particular digestive enzyme: bromelain. This enzyme, which is derived from pineapple, is a protein-digesting enzyme with a centuries-long history of use for digestive and stomach-related benefits. Dr. Marshall advises: “This guy promotes the best structure and function for the stomach, you’re going to be able to eat and digest so the stomach won’t be sedated anymore. It should be able to work very, very well. It’s certainly gotten a lot of people out of trouble with indigestion, acid reflux, and similar things.”
